NC Community College Leader to Speak at ECC Graduation

Scott Shook, chairman of the State Board of Community Colleges, will give the keynote address during graduation exercises at 麻豆视频在线观看 on Saturday, May 6.
Commencement begins at 10 a.m. and will be held in Keihin Auditorium on the Tarboro campus. For those unable to attend, will be available.
ECC will graduate 460 students, who will be awarded 570 curriculum degrees, diplomas, and certificates. An additional 42 students will receive Adult High School Equivalency and Adult High School diplomas.
Shook was appointed to the State Board by Governor Pat McCrory for a term of July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2019. Shook was elected State Board chairman in July 2015.
A Raleigh native, he graduated in 1993 from East Carolina University with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in economics. Since then, Shook has worked in the financial service industry for 24 years and is currently vice president of investment and financial advisor at BB&T Scott & Stringfellow.
He has volunteered with many community organizations, including the ECU Department of Economics Advisory Board, Pitt-Greenville Crime Stoppers, the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce, the City of Greenville Board of Adjustments, and Wilson Elks Lodge #840.
The 21-member State Board of Community Colleges is the governing authority for the NC Community College System, the nation鈥檚 third largest system of community colleges.
